I would start by checking the original build sheet and then compare the physical equipment on the vehicle. A sales or option code confirms the factory record, but it does not prove that every original component is still installed.

The wording may be abbreviated because these were originally production codes rather than consumer descriptions. “Front tires: 7.50R16/D BL R/ST TL Highway. This code identifies the factory tire specification, application, or spare-wheel equipment” is a reasonable plain-English reading, but the exact implementation should be verified for the 2024 model.

A clear photo of the build label, VIN report, and the relevant component would help. Do not post the full VIN publicly; the last eight characters are normally enough for a parts-counter discussion.

Some codes are reused across several brands, but that does not always mean the parts are identical. Model, trim, drivetrain, and production date can all matter.

The dealer should be able to pull a VIN-specific equipment or parts record. Ask them to search by VIN rather than entering only the three-character code.

For a retrofit, check the modules, wiring connectors, software configuration, and compatible part numbers first. Installing the visible component alone may not make the feature operational.

This sounds more like a documentation mismatch than a decoder error. Different databases often shorten the same factory description in different ways.

Check the production month as well as the model year. Mid-year changes are one reason two vehicles with the same badge can have different hardware or descriptions.
