Can the 58C option be added after production?

Before buying, I would inspect the relevant component and take a photo of its label or part number. That often resolves whether the vehicle still has the factory configuration associated with 58C.

That code should be read as a factory configuration identifier, not necessarily a guarantee of a separate dashboard control. Some equipment operates automatically or is bundled with another system.

If the feature is listed but not working, scan all related modules before assuming it was removed. A stored fault, replacement module, or configuration mismatch can make original equipment appear absent.

I would avoid buying retrofit parts until the connectors and module support are confirmed. Returning electronic or VIN-programmed components can be difficult.

For a retrofit, check the modules, wiring connectors, software configuration, and compatible part numbers first. Installing the visible component alone may not make the feature operational.

The dealer should be able to pull a VIN-specific equipment or parts record. Ask them to search by VIN rather than entering only the three-character code.

The wording may be abbreviated because these were originally production codes rather than consumer descriptions. “Cloth interior trim: Light Neutral/Medium Dark Neutral. This code identifies the factory upholstery material, color combination, or interior trim specification” is a reasonable plain-English reading, but the exact implementation should be verified for the 2013 model.
