4EV — Interior trim: Ebony/Twilight Blue. This code identifies the factory upholstery material, color combination, or interior trim specification. Browse RPO codes →

My 2022 Cadillac CT5 did not appear to leave the factory with the setup identified by 4EV: “Interior trim: Ebony/Twilight Blue. This code identifies the factory upholstery material, color combination, or interior trim specification” I am considering adding it. Does the retrofit normally involve control-module programming, a different harness, or additional hardware?

Before buying, I would inspect the relevant component and take a photo of its label or part number. That often resolves whether the vehicle still has the factory configuration associated with 4EV.

The safest interpretation is the one tied to the exact VIN, model year, platform, and market. In general, 4EV matches “Interior trim: Ebony/Twilight Blue. This code identifies the factory upholstery material, color combination, or interior trim specification” but the included hardware can vary between applications.

I would avoid buying retrofit parts until the connectors and module support are confirmed. Returning electronic or VIN-programmed components can be difficult.

I would start by checking the original build sheet and then compare the physical equipment on the vehicle. A sales or option code confirms the factory record, but it does not prove that every original component is still installed.
